Crivitz is located in Marinette County in northeast Wisconsin, close to many resources that offer unique recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.

With over 250 square miles of all season vacationland, the lands and waters in the Crivitz area offer something special to those who visit this area. We invite you and your family to come and enjoy our extensive recreational facilities.

This region has long been a popular destination for northwoods vacationers as well as hunters and fishermen. The waters in this area offer many unique and diverse activities. We have whitewater rafting and kayaking on the upper stretch of the Peshtigo River, the best in the Midwest. There are also a record number of waterfalls in Marinette County, and many are easily accessible for viewing.

Fishing is also a major area activity. The biggest attraction to the area would be the great fishing on High Falls and Caldron Falls Flowages, with everything from small pan fish to trophy size muskies. In addition, there are countless smaller lakes, rivers and streams offering a full range of fishing experiences. There is a fly fishing area on the Peshtigo River just south of Johnson Falls, and Marinette County has more class A trout streams than anywhere else in the state of Wisconsin. In the winter, ice fishing is enjoyed by many, with a number of popular fishing derbies on local lakes throughout the season.

The lands in this area are special too. There are many acres of Marinette County Forest land open to the public as well as 22 County Parks. Most parks offering swimming, boating and picnicking and six of them offer camping as well. We are also next door to the Nicolet National Forest in neighboring Oconto County. The newest additions to the area are the Peshtigo River State Forest and the Governor Thompson State Park. These areas offer a variety of hiking, biking and cross country ski trails available for your use. Thousands of acres of public hunting grounds attract growing numbers of hunters each year. Whether you hunt with rifle, shotgun or bow, you owe it to yourself to at least one season of hunting in the Crivitz area.

Auto touring is also a popular pass time. Parkway Road, which winds its way through the Flowage area is designated as Wisconsin Road #32. In addition, there are many forest roads available to take you off the beaten track and back to nature. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, with the many lakes and forests, and sightings of deer, bear and eagles are common, just to name a few. The scenery is quite spectacular during the fall colors as well.

Marinette County is home to some of the finest snowmobile and ATV trails in the state. There is an ATV Campground at McClintock Park. ATV Trail Maps are available through Marinetee County and you can visit our Snowmoible Directory for more information on the local trails and a listing of local clubs.
